{"id":359,"date":"2008-06-12T11:25:38","date_gmt":"2008-06-12T17:25:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.donaldneff.com\/blog\/?p=359"},"modified":"2008-06-12T11:25:38","modified_gmt":"2008-06-12T17:25:38","slug":"off-to-alaska","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.donaldneff.com\/blog\/off-to-alaska\/","title":{"rendered":"Off To Alaska!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am off to Vancouver, BC tomorrow for an Alaskan Cruise on the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/learn\/ships\/sa\/index.html\">Sapphire Princess<\/a>.  This will be our third cruise to Alaska but I have never taken a paint set, so am taking some acrylics and 8&#215;10 unstretched canvas.  This is also the first time we haven&#8217;t booked any shore excursions, so hope to have plenty of free time to do at least one painting in each port.  The forecast looks like rain in every port, so will have to see how that goes.  We are going up to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/dena\/\">Denali<\/a> afterward, so there will be some good opportunities to paint there also.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a picture of our ship, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/learn\/ships\/sa\/index.html\">Sapphire Princess<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sapphire princess\" id=\"image108\" title=\"sapphire princess\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.princess.com\/images\/learn\/ships\/sapphire_princess\/sa_main.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>We will be visiting Vancouver, Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Whittier AK, Anchorage, and Denali.<\/p>\n<p>I took a paint set on our Mediterranean cruise several summers ago, and the four paintings I did are my favorite \u00e2\u20ac\u2122souvenirs\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 of all time.
