{"id":364,"date":"2008-06-16T17:24:20","date_gmt":"2008-06-16T23:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.donaldneff.com\/blog\/?p=364"},"modified":"2008-06-27T19:50:45","modified_gmt":"2008-06-28T01:50:45","slug":"ketchikan-alaska","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.donaldneff.com\/blog\/ketchikan-alaska\/","title":{"rendered":"Ketchikan, Alaska"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I mentioned in my previous post, we are off to Vancouver for a cruise to Alaska aboard the Sapphire Princess, and I am writing this after returning home.<\/p>\n<p>After flying to Vancouver, and sailing up the coast, we arrived in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.visit-ketchikan.com\/\">Ketchikan<\/a> today.  It was rainy and drizzling, and the &#8216;cabin was still asleep&#8217;, so I decided to do a quick painting from our cabin balcony.   I brought some acrylics, which I don&#8217;t use much now days, so it may take a few paintings to get back in the groove. Below is a shot of my travel kit and part of the cabin balcony&#8211;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"alaska2.jpg\" id=\"image362\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.donaldneff.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/alaska2.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Below is a quick snapshot of the painting, about 45 minutes worth of effort&#8211;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"alaska3.jpg\" id=\"image363\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.donaldneff.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/alaska3.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>We have been here before, and I would have liked to have taken my paints into town, and paint <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.creekstreetketchikan.com\/\">Creek Street<\/a> which is full of wonderful old buildings, but with the constant drizzle wasn&#8217;t sure if I could find a place to actually get out of the rain and a steady stream of tourists.
